Luxury Coastal Accommodation Auckland - Your Hosts
Fourth generation New Zealanders, Stephanie and Doug Snelling, opened Seafields as a luxury bed and breakfast in order to share their duel passions of hosting, and a love of the area in which they live.
Both Stephanie and Doug have a long family history of farming. Doug is a fourth generation Northland farmer (sheep, cattle and dairy), whilst Stephanie’s father had a sheep station in Central Otago before moving to Stephanie’s birthplace, the food and wine mecca - Hawke’s Bay, where he continued sheep farming. Seafields was subsequently purchased by Stephanie’s parents in 1960 as a diary farm and so named due to its stunning sea views and proximity to the beach.
Doug is also an avid equestrian and has had a life time involvement in competitive sports such as show jumping, cross country and polo as well as breeding and selling polo ponies worldwide. Stephanie is a lover of cats and a speciality breeder of Bengal cats resulting in her being a four times winner in the national category of ‘Best Bengal Breeder in New Zealand’. Both Doug and Stephanie are keen on fishing and will be happy advise guests on good fishing charter companies.
Stephanie has undertaken renovation of the property and embarked on a major landscaping project creating the relaxing pool area as it is seen today.
Stephanie and Doug know you will love your stay at Seafields and look forward to welcoming you.
